SILENT RETREAT WITH MOOJI
Nanna Garu’s Ashram,
Tiruvannamalai, India
18th December – 28th December 2008

The Retreat is set in a beautiful, quiet area with a magnificent view of Arunachala. Sri Nanna Garu Ashram is approximately 10 minutes walk from Sri Ramanasramam.
This silent retreat at Nanna Garu’s Ashram is an opportunity to take up Mooji's invitation to enquire into, recognize and awaken to our inner reality as immortal Being. It is immediate and direct experience, the swift and natural outcome of self-enquiry. This exploration is conducted in a protective and loving space shared with others who are called by the same voice.
There is a beautiful force which radiates from Mooji's presence; a joyous yet impersonal intimacy which encourages and enables us to open up fully and fearlessly to the freedom that Satsang invites us to embrace.
Silently, we will eat, sleep and move in an environment free from the usual demands, pressures and distractions of social interacting. It is not an aim or search for peace but a chance to discover and experience the inherent silence, beauty and completeness of the Reality/Being we already are.
A detailed Programme will be presented or sent to participants before the retreat commences.
Guidelines
Satsangs are as usual, an opportunity and space to present our questions, doubts, concerns and observations to Mooji. We are encouraged to be open, honest and natural with Mooji as though you were alone with him. Mooji honors and serves our persistence and determination for complete self-discovery.
Outside formal Satsang time, it is required there be strictly no physical contact, talking, singing, reading or writing; also avoid engaging the attention of others by way of eye contact. Please abide by these rules.
Please move about quietly and with your attention resting in silent awareness.
Obviously, in an emergency the general rule structure is suspended in order to serve the needs of the moment and to restore harmony.
Daily Routine
There will be 2 Satsangs daily:
Mornings at: 10am to 12noon
Evenings at: 5pm to 7pm

Outside of formal Satsang, there is time to rest, sleep or go walking around the Holy Mountain Arunachala or to spend some time at Ramana Maharshi’s Ashram. There are also many other areas of spiritual interest here in Tiruvannamalai.

Getting there
A valid visa is required to enter India. You will need to check with the High Commission of India in your own country on how to obtain your visa before your departure dates.
The country currency is Indian Rupees and you may want to change some money on your arrival at Chennai airport or Bangalore airport. It is recommended you take a taxi from either airport. It is especially cheap if you are sharing costs. Busses are very cheap but can be noisy, cold and journey time is significantly longer than taxi.
The closest airport to Tiruvannamalai is Chennai; also known as Madras. British Airways offer direct flights from London. Another option is to fly London to Bangalore although it takes about 1 hour extra to reach Tiruvannamalai. There are several options open to those flying from other European countries and worldwide.
