“Isn’t Witnessing Also a Doing?”

A questioner writes that, “Many of the sages have said I am not the doer but the witness, but isn’t witnessing also a doing on my part?”

Moojibaba explains that as long as we believe we are a person, we cannot escape karma. Maybe you are making an effort to witness, but aren’t you also witnessing this witnessing? Is there any effort there? Even the one who is choosing to witness is observed by a deeper space, which is not choosing anything, or making any effort to observe.

It will be a confusing and contradictory if you stay at the level of the person. But even the one who is perplexed and confused is also perceived.
