Welcome the Lion On Your Path

Excerpt of the spoken story by Mooji:

“The story’s like this: there’s a young woman who lives in the forest with her family–the next day she’s going to get married. So as it turned out today is the last time she has to go and check to make sure that all the arrangements are done. So she’s got her list. First the dressmaker, then the cake maker, then the priest, then her Beloved.

So she’s happy, happy, happy. She sets off on her path with all these appointments in her mind, she’s looking so much forward to today and tomorrow. And as she’s walking along very happily, through the forest, a lion or tiger, just steps out into the path. It’s never happened before, this lion is fierce looking and he just stands up in front of her like this and he’s as close as we are together like this, and she knows she can’t run. She just knows there’s no way you can get away, and this lion is just standing there like that looking at her, and she can feel its breath on her. And so in that instant when she sees the lion, the appointment with the dress maker who’s waiting for her — poof! Just vanish from her mind. And the next appointment with the cake maker, like — poof! It’s just gone. The appointment with the priest — poof! Everything is gone. Only her Beloved now, and in that instant — poof! He’s gone also. And for the first time, she’s totally empty. Empty, empty, empty.

So, I won’t speak anymore about the rest of the story, but Papaji said, ‘Welcome this lion on your path,’ and what it means is that whatever it is that puts an end to your projections about how life should be, welcome this lion, or this tiger on your path, because this one has come for you to wake up.”

I was on my way to get my wedding dress made
When the lion he came and everything did fade
All I thought I was and what I was doing
In that moment soon was ruined
My plans, my projections, my dreams and my afflictions
Were gone were gone, and in your presence I was drawn
Everything I knew, right wrong or true
Fades away into You

Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
(x2)

There’s no need to plan
It’s in God’s hands
(x4)

You better disappear
There nothing to fear
No past, no future
What’s here is here

In God’s hands
I make my stand
For liberation
His holy vibration

Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
(x2)

Gotta go, gotta go
Where you gotta go?
No there ain’t no time for thinking
Gotta be, gotta be
What you gotta be?
No there there ain’t no time for wasting
What you feeling?
Now what you feeling? (x3)
Now: waking and roar!

Gotta see, gotta see
What you gotta see?
No there ain’t no time tomorrow
Gotta be, gotta be
What you gotta be?
No there ain’t no time for sorrow
What you feeling?
Now what you feeling? x3
Now: waking and roar!

Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
(x2)

I was on my way to get my wedding dress made
When the Lord he came and told me not to be afraid
Our challenges they come to set us free
So we can know the Supreme Reality

Everything I knew
What’s right wrong or true
Fades away into You

Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
Welcome the lion on your path (the lion on your path)
Welcome the lion, the Lion of Zion
(x2)
