The Mirror of Self-Realisation

After a student shares that he has been observing the sense of emptiness, the Master helps clarify where we are truly looking from, revealing that emptiness is not an object of perception experienced by the spiritual seeker, but rather that from which perceiving itself takes place.

“When you say you’re observing emptiness—what is your quality?
Who is observing emptiness?
Are you apart from emptiness?
I want to know if emptiness is different from you, the one who observes it?
This is a very important thing.

I said once, ‘The vastness that is seen by the mind is not the true vastness.
The vastness in which the mind itself is seen—that is the real.’

The vastness is not an object of perception. The vastness is the subject perceiving.”
