FAQ
General
What is Satsang, Self-inquiry, and the Invitation?
Satsang means ‘association with the highest Truth’ and refers to a gathering of people who are searching for who or what they truly are at the deepest level. Satsang often takes place in the presence of an awakened teacher or master. Seekers will ask questions and the master will respond to clear up any doubts, misunderstandings or apparent obstacles. Satsang, Self-inquiry and ‘An Invitation to Freedom’ are all powerful aids to discovering your true nature and timeless freedom. A lasting discovery of Truth is often referred to as self-realisation, enlightenment or awakening. More information can be found on the Satsang page.
What language is the retreat being offered in? Will there be any translations?
The retreat is in English with translation available for the Live Broadcast, Pre-Retreat Recordings, Contemplation Guidances and in selected Zoom calls for Español, Français, Italiano, Português and Русский
Translation in each language is available in Zoom for two sessions, and participants using the live translation service will be invited to attend these two sessions on Zoom so they also have an opportunity to bring forward their questions.
This translation service is being lovingly offered by non-professional interpreters joining online from around the world, and the quality may vary. It is helpful for some participants to listen to Satsang in their native language, however there is always the possibility that some of Mooji’s words or meaning is missing or not translated perfectly. Naturally, Mooji’s own, unfiltered words are the highest and most powerful transmission, but many have benefitted deeply from listening to the live translation.
Is this a residential program?
This retreat is not residential; it is being offered online only.

I cannot afford the retreat at the moment. Do you offer concessions?
Concession places are available for those who are unable to attend at the full price for financial reasons. Please click here for more information. Applications for concessions close on Monday, 12 June at 8:00am (Lisbon time). If you can complete the form earlier, that is a great help for us to process the applications in good time before the start of the retreat.
Watching & Being on Retreat
I can’t join all the Satsangs in real time. Can I watch at another time?
We encourage everyone to attend all the sessions of the retreat, however if this is not possible, the recordings are available to stream or download for at least 6 months after the event. Streaming is possible shortly after the end of each Satsang, and downloads will be available within 2 weeks after the end of the retreat.
How can I make the most of the retreat? Such as preparing the space, and passing the time between Satsangs?
As much as possible throughout the retreat, move quietly with your attention resting in silent awareness. Some suggestions that you may wish to consider:
- Preparing your space can contribute greatly to the atmosphere. For example, a clean and quiet space where you are comfortable and undisturbed can be supportive.
- Take a moment to consider how to be free from distractions and interruptions. Eg. turn off your phone; close apps and other tabs on the computer; where possible and appropriate, let friends and family know that you would prefer not to be disturbed.
- The time you spend prior to and after Satsang is of utmost importance to allow the pointings to settle deeply inside your heart. Sitting quietly at these times can be very powerful, even if it is just for 10 minutes.
- Keep your attention focused inwards throughout the retreat even while engaging in necessary practical daily activities and interactions.
- Arrange some quiet contemplative time, and avoid unnecessary distractions throughout the retreat, such as watching movies/tv, browsing social media etc.
I cannot be fully in a retreat environment at home, eg. due to work or parental responsibilities. Is it still worth joining?
The most important requirement is a sincere and wholehearted commitment to self-discovery. While it is recommended to have plenty of time for contemplation, and a calm and peaceful space to join the retreat, it is still possible to benefit greatly from the retreat in other circumstances. Our suggestion would be to be as present as possible during the Satsangs (live or recorded), and to avoid any unnecessary additional activities other than what is required of you.
Can I ask Mooji a question?
Each participant will be invited to join two live Satsangs on Zoom and Moojibaba will take questions directly from those on Zoom. If you have a burning satsang question, report or testimony for Moojibaba, you can use the hand icon on Zoom to indicate this. Please keep your question short and to the essence of what you would like to share.
We also feel to share that it is not necessary to ask a question to make the full use of this time in retreat—when Moojibaba answers one questioner, he is really answering all our questions with his universal answers and direct pointings.
Questions in French, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and Russian: It is also possible to ask Mooji a question in these languages. Each Zoom session will have two translation languages available (each satsang will offer translation for all languages on the Live Broadcast, but only 2 languages within the zoom call). If you require translation, please select the two sessions that offer translation in your language when you register.
How do I watch live?
At Satsang time, go to the top of this page, which is the Retreat Homepage, and the broadcast should start automatically at the scheduled time. If it does not, you may need to refresh the page.
If at any time you do not see the live player at the top of the page, you can get to the Retreat Homepage by clicking ‘Attend’ or ‘Log In’ at the top right of the page.
If you do not see either ‘Attend’ or ‘Log In’, then you may be logged into our website with a different email address than the one you registered with. In this case, go to ‘My Account’ (by clicking the circle at the very top right) and log in with the same email address you used to register for the retreat.
If you are not logged in, just click log in and enter your Mooji.org account details. The broadcast will start automatically on the video player at the top of the page. If it does not, you may need to refresh the page.
Usually broadcasts begin 5-15 minutes before scheduled time. If the Satsang doesn’t start on schedule, please refresh the page. If it is still not there, please double check the Schedule page and make sure you are tuning in at the correct time based on your time zone.
If you have any issues, please check the FAQ and if you still need help contact us here.
