In Honour of Ellen Louise Sutherland

Our dear friend Ellen left the body peacefully the morning of 6 January 2025.

For nearly a decade, Ellen offered her full-hearted service to the sangha. Ellen began transcribing Moojibaba’s satsangs in 2013, and by 2015 she was jointly coordinating a team of 40 regular transcribers (and training just as many new ones). The transcribing team records all of Moojibaba’s satsangs in written form, both for longevity and in support of book publications.

Ellen’s steadfast commitment to Truth, love for Moojibaba, and deep reverence for his pointings was reflected in her dedication to preserving his guidance and her care for the sangha. Ellen helped bring the transcribers together from across the globe not just as a team but as a sangha that comes together to follow satsang. They were one of the first sangha groups to meet regularly online, even before the pandemic.

Ellen had a lung condition and difficulty breathing for a long time, but her health significantly declined soon after the loss of her life partner Bauke in 2022. At this time she shared the prayer:

‘May I never forget what I am nor be distracted by this ill body.
May I accept what is happening in this life.’

Recently, Ellen was admitted to the hospital as her health condition became more acute. She reached out to Moojibaba, who immediately sent his blessing and continued to be with her in the days that followed. Ellen left the body peacefully, with her sister and sister’s partner by her side, shortly after listening to a message that Moojibaba had recorded for her.

Thank you for all you have given us, for your dedication to Moojibaba’s pointings, for your pure and caring spirit. We honour and love you.
