If something seems to be blocking
the recognition of who we are,
I wonder if it is the entrenched habit
and loyalty to our belief that we are
merely the body and
a personal entity living inside it.
Under close inspection
we find that this person
is imagined and does not truly exist.
But unexamined, this imaginary self
robs us of eternal life.
Now, this is the most powerful delusion on earth:
something that does not exist
covers and hides
the Supreme Lord of the universe.
But hides Him from whom?
Who, if not Himself, wears the mask
of ‘other’, ‘me’ or ‘I’?
