Protected: Message from Mooji on People Teaching in His Name

Dear Sangha,
Over the years, I have received many inquiries regarding satsang teachers or practitioners who claim to be teaching with my blessing. I want to share very clearly that I have not, and will not give my permission or endorsement for anyone to share satsang in my name, nor have I proclaimed anyone to be Self-realised. I can only declare from my own heart and experience what I am compelled by grace to share—that’s it. Any claim that someone has received my endorsement to share satsang or guide others—please know this is not true.
So often, I see people who themselves are not resolved in the teachings, setting themselves up to guide others. It is very important to understand that Self-realisation does not mean one is necessarily destined to be a satsang teacher. The purpose of satsang is not to become a teacher, but to awaken to and be established in the natural state of being.
My unwavering advice to any genuine seeker is to continue verifying one’s true place as the formless and unchanging witness—this is true sadhana. Contrary to the expectation of many seekers, Self-realisation is not an event. You must continue clarifying and persisting in your practice with faith, focus, and humility. Don’t mistake an awakening or deep insight to mean you have realised the Self and the ego is forever dethroned.
By the grace and force of persistent and authentic introspection, the genuine seeker is gradually released from the grip of the psychological identity. Like this, the sense of individuality falls away naturally, and one merges in the limitless silence of the Real.
My heart’s blessings to each one who feels called to this discovery.
May the cataract of ego identity be removed, thus revealing our Unborn Reality.
Many people have come to me over the years seeking my blessing to guide others—be it through teaching, therapy, life coaching or other practices. Often they say they began speaking with others quite naturally and spontaneously, in response to sangha or friends seeking advice. They would say that these encounters felt supported and blessed, and many would even say they felt I was speaking through them.
In some cases I felt it was fine for them to continue to share like this. It’s always been natural for me to bless whatever touches my heart with the aim to serve the upliftment of humanity. However, I later came to see that my blessing was often taken as an endorsement to share satsang, or even as a confirmation of Self-realisation. I have not and cannot give this kind of everlasting endorsement to anyone or anything in the phenomenal realm, and have not declared any student or disciple to be Self-realised. This may surprise some.
For those in satsang, it can happen that after a profound insight or opening, a strong impulse or impatience can come to share with others. It is important for the sangha to support each other, and interactions within the sangha-field are a natural and healthy part of our daily life and maturing. But beware of any urge or overconfidence to share satsang or to label oneself enlightened. Such impulses come from the ego-identity and often leave disaster on the path.
I’d like to emphasize something now that is worthy of your deep attention: I have often observed that when someone begins teaching prematurely, their own genuine awakening is derailed as the attention and energy shifts from self-introspection towards developing the role of being a teacher.
The true work of sharing satsang is more than giving spiritual guidance. It is something anointed and sustained by the power and grace of God. This power is beyond human intellect or determination—it comes spontaneously from the illuminated heart that meets and naturally serves the needs of the moment.
